We are now looking for another admissions officer who will work alongside our current admissions officer. As an admissions officer, you will manage the entire admissions process for Norrbotten's upper secondary schools - both municipal and independent. You are responsible for ensuring that applications are processed legally, efficiently, and with good service to students, guardians, and schools. You will receive a thorough introduction. Gymnasieantagning Nord also has a development leader who coordinates the work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an admissions officer, you will work with the entire chain of the upper secondary school admissions process, from processing applications to communicating admission decisions and providing support along the way. You will inform both students, guardians, study and career counselors, as well as principals and school authorities on matters related to applications and admissions. The work may also include administration of inter-municipal compensations. In 2026, we will also change the admissions system and enter a national system where all admissions offices/municipalities will work. This means that you will primarily be trained in the new admissions system.

You will also have contact/network with admissions offices in other parts of the country and may participate in national networks where experiences and news in the field are shared. The work is governed by a national regulatory framework, which means that you need to have good knowledge of and familiarize yourself with relevant regulations and be able to interpret them in both general and specific cases.

The admissions process follows a clear annual cycle with intensive periods, especially during February - March and May - September. For the work to function, it is necessary to plan the work efforts based on these peaks, and with relatively calmer periods in between. We have also digitized almost the entire work process around admissions, which is a must since we work with the entire county.

Your workplace is located in central Luleå, primarily together with an admissions officer and development leader for Gymnasieantagning Nord. In the IT/Admin department, which you will belong to, there are about 20 people in various support functions within AUF/Luleå Municipality. We can offer you a pleasant working environment with flexible workplaces and the possibility of remote work.

QUALIFICATIONS

A completed upper secondary education is a requirement, and experience in administrative work within public operations is desirable. Since travel is part of the job, you must have a B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have a post-secondary education with an administrative focus and/or experience in administrative work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To thrive and succeed in the role of admissions officer, you need to be a structured person who takes responsibility and enjoys working independently but also sees the positive in working as a team. You plan your work based on the admissions process's annual cycle and have the ability to keep both the big picture and details in focus, which are important qualities in a role where you, as an admissions officer, are the only one with this competence in the county.

You are clear in your communication, express yourself well in both speech and writing, and find it easy to meet different target groups in a professional and accessible manner. You have a service-oriented and solution-focused approach, enjoy varied tasks where you can switch between planning, execution, and communication, sometimes even with difficult messages and conversations.
